Urban A x WECare

When I travelled to Sri Lanka for the first time a few years ago, I was shocked when I noticed how many street dogs there were, and how many of them were in a really bad state. I felt helpless. Back home in Helsinki, I couldn't stop thinking about what I saw and decided to do some research and go back.
In the beginning of this year I flew back to Sri Lanka, and this time met with a charity called WECare, founded by UK vet Dr Janey Lowes in 2014. WECare is a nonprofit organisation, that relies solely on donations to run the charity. The street dogs in Sri Lanka are not stray dogs, they live freely (and happily!) on the street, with most having a safe place to sleep and a reliable food source but what they’re lacking is access to health care when they need it most, which is where the charity comes in. At WECare, they focus on three main areas- neutering and vaccinations, treatment of illness and injury, and educating the community about the welfare of roaming dogs.

Now we are bringing back our popular sweatshirts - this time with the print "URBAN CARE".
We are donating 50% of each sold sweatshirt to the WECare charity. The price for the sweatshirt is 76€.

This year, because of a global pandemic, the charity has sadly lost half their team almost overnight when some of their international staff had to make the decision to fly home. WECare now needs all the help they can get.
I have always loved dogs, my dream and goal has always been to, at some point, work as a volunteer to help dogs in need. This is the first step in that direction.
